Full Bio
For more than thirty years, Lee helped clients understand the financial decisions that shape their lives. His approach was personal and collaborative, simplifying the complicated, stripping away the noise, and giving people solutions they would actually implement.
Metaphors became one of the ways Lee helped clients find clarity. As much as he enjoyed creating them, they weren’t there for their own sake; they were practical lenses that helped clients see their path clearly. Golf metaphors were just one of many frameworks he used to help people see their situations differently, get unstuck, and finally move forward.
He wrote this book to help make important decisions feel less overwhelming and more manageable, so readers can move forward with clarity and confidence. Your Swing, Your Retirement is designed to benefit readers whether they play golf or simply tolerate those who do.
Lee began his career as a systems analyst, where he learned to deconstruct complex processes into logical, manageable components. A project that brought him onto the bond trading floor sparked a career change and led to a dozen years working with institutional bond portfolios, giving him a deep understanding of markets, risk, and the mechanics of investing. From there, he moved into financial planning for individuals, a field he worked in for decades. He retired from practice in 2025 with CFP® Emeritus status.
Lee lives in Minnesota with his wife, Audrey, where he continues to write, teach, and refine the ideas that have guided his work for decades. Beyond that, he can usually be found happily struggling with his ongoing love/hate relationship with his golf game.
